Job summary

Cheshire College South and West is seeking a Vocational Trainer in Engineering with experience of Electrical Maintenance to join our team across Crewe and Ellesmere Port campuses. This role supports apprentices with a high-quality learning experience and plays a key part in achieving timely apprenticeship outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have an assessor qualification or willingness to work towards, a PGCE or willingness to pursue, and industry qualifications at Level 3 or higher.

Qualifications

  • Experience of Electrical Maintenance in education or industry.
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
  • PGCE or willingness to work towards.
  • Full current driving licence and business insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Train and assess learners up to Level 3 in workplace and college.
  • Support learner progress through assessment and curriculum delivery.
  • Ensure timely achievement of apprenticeship frameworks and standards.
  • Promote safeguarding and welfare of learners per college policies.

Vocational Trainer in Engineering (EL848)

Salary: circa £43,748
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Crewe and Ellesmere Port Campus

We are seeking a Vocational Trainer in Engineering with experience of Electrical Maintenance to join our team working across our Campuses at Crewe and Ellesmere Port. This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and inspiring Vocational Trainer to provide apprentices with an outstanding learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and assess learners up to Level 3, in the workplace and college;
  • Support learner progress through assessment in the workplace and curriculum delivery;
  • Ensuring timely achievement of apprenticeship frameworks and standards;
  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in line with college policies.
Person Specification Requirements
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent) or willingness to work towards;
  • PGCE or willingness to work towards;
  • Industry relevant qualifications to a minimum of a Level 3 (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent);
  • Experience of Electrical Maintenance;
  • Knowledge and understanding of awarding body standards and requirements;
  • Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment;
  • Experience of working in further education;
  • Up-to-date occupational experience;
  • Full current driving licence and use of a car and insurance for business purposes are essential;
  • Enhanced DBS check.
