Cheshire College South & West is seeking a Lecturer in Engineering with maintenance and/or design specialisms for Ellesmere Port Campus. The role offers a permanent contract and a competitive salary.

Lecturer in Engineering (Maintenance and/or Design specialisms) (EL232)

Salary: £28,997 - £43,748 (per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Ellesmere Port Campus

We are seeking a Lecturer in Engineering with Maintenance and/or Design specialisms to join our team at our Ellesmere Port Campus.

This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and inspiring Lecturer to provide learners with an outstanding learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lecturer on a range of Engineering Courses (Maintenance and/or Design specialisms);
  • Assess learners against identified frameworks;and
  • Keep accurate records forlearners’progress inCollegeand the workplace.
Key Person Specification Requirements:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering (Maintenance and/or Design specialisms);
  • Assessor Qualification(TAQA/A1 or equivalent) or commitment to work towards;
  • Verifier Award(orcommitment towork towards);
  • Proven experience in Engineering (Maintenance & Design);
  • Teacher trained (PGCE, DTLLS or CertEd) or willingness to working towards;
  • Proven experienceintheEngineering industry;
  • Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learningenvironment;
  • Up-to-date occupational experience;and
  • Enhanced DBS check.

We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers(NQTs)and from current industry practitioners who do not have a teaching qualification. Anyone joining the College will be part of a Lecturer Development Programme which provides staff with a range of support and training based on previous experience and individual need. The programme will offer a range of support and development opportunities, including inductions related to all College systems and processes, an assigned curriculum mentor and regular 1-2-1 support from the Quality team. Industry experts who do not currently hold a teaching qualification will be supported through our ‘Introduction to Teaching at Cheshire College South & West 12-week programme.
