Job summary

Cheshire College South & West is seeking a Vocational Trainer in Engineering with experience of Electrical Maintenance to support learners across Crewe and Ellesmere Port campuses. The role focuses on delivering work-based training and college learning to apprentices, ensuring progress and timely qualification achievement.

The ideal candidate will hold an assessor qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent) or be willing to work towards it, plus a PGCE and Level 3 qualifications.

Qualifications

• Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
• PGCE or willingness to work towards.
• Industry relevant qualifications to a minimum of a level 3 (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent).
• Experience of Electrical Maintenance.
• Knowledge of awarding body standards and requirements.
• Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment.
• Experience of working in further education.
• Up-to-date occupational experience.
• Full current driving licence and business insurance essential.
• Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Train and Assess learners up to Level 3, in the workplace and College.
• Support learner progress through assessment in the workplace and curriculum delivery.
• Ensure timely achievement of apprenticeship frameworks and standards.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons in line with college policies.
