Job summary

Elite Executive Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher for a specialist education provision supporting young people with complex needs. You will split your time between teaching vocational learning and leading the quality of education across the site.

Approximately two days per week are spent in the classroom delivering personalised lessons and building relationships with learners, while three days focus on leadership, performance management and curriculum development.

Qualifications

• QTS or working towards it.
• Experience as DSL or safeguarding qualification/experience.
• Experience with young people with complex needs or challenging behaviour.
• Experience leading or line managing staff.
• Experience setting objectives or KPIs and conducting supervision.

Responsibilities

• Teaching approx. 2 days per week, delivering vocational learning and personalised lessons.
• Lead and develop the quality of teaching and learning across the provision.
• Line manage staff with regular supervision and performance reviews.
• Set objectives and KPIs, monitor progress and drive improvements.
• Manage timetable and staffing, and develop curriculum and schemes of work.
• Monitor learner progress, attendance and data, taking action as needed.
• Identify staff development needs and support professional growth.
• Promote consistent teaching and behaviour management approaches.
