Job summary

IB Talent Search is seeking an engaging Vocational Trainer to teach and lead small classes of around 8 learners in a hands-on setting. This role focuses on basic mechanics at Level 1, with emphasis on H&S, safe tool use, and practical demonstrations for young people.

We welcome educators, coaches or youth leaders who can manage groups, motivate learners, and create an inclusive classroom culture. Qualifications are preferred but attitude and foundational knowledge matter most.

Qualifications

• Experience in education, training, youth work or as a CFAV (highly desirable)
• Basic mechanical knowledge at Level 1 standard
• Ability to explain practical concepts clearly and safely
• Believes in inclusion and helping every learner succeed
• Teaching or vocational qualifications are welcome, but not required

Responsibilities

• Teach and lead small-group classes (typically around 8 learners)
• Deliver engaging, well-structured learning sessions
• Teach basic mechanics to Level 1: H&S, Safe use of basic tools, How things work in practice, core concepts such as combustion engines, braking systems and vehicle components
• Support learners with SEND within a group teaching environment
• Create a calm, inclusive and well-managed classroom culture; work closely with colleagues to support learner progress
