Job summary

National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is seeking a Welcome Manager for Hinton Ampner. You will lead the welcome operation, including visitor reception and house opening, ensuring every visitor is warmly welcomed and enjoys a seamless visit that inspires ongoing support.

You’ll develop and lead a team of staff and volunteers, uphold high standards of service, and work to grow charitable income while ensuring safety and presentation across the property.

Qualifications

• Experience in visitor services, tourism or heritage settings.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage financial performance and budgets.
• Adaptable, proactive and able to work under pressure.
• Commitment to delivering high standards of service.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day welcome operation including visitor reception and house opening.
• Develop and lead a team of staff and volunteers to deliver outstanding visitor experiences.
• Ensure safety, presentation and visitor care across the property.
• Support growth of charitable income and community engagement.
• Resolve visitor concerns and maintain high service standards in line with National Trust policies.
