Job summary

Manchester City Council is seeking a Visitor Information Manager within Manchester Central Library. You will lead a high-profile team delivering welcoming, accurate visitor guidance and shaping the city’s visitor experience.

You will develop partnerships with cultural organisations and attractions, drive commercial opportunities, and support major city events to promote Manchester as a vibrant destination.

Qualifications

• Proven staff line management experience in a retail or tourism related environment.
• Flexibility to work unsocial hours, including weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the service.
• Experience delivering excellent customer service.
• Excellent digital and ICT skills across a range of packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Visitor Information Centre and develop partnerships with cultural organisations and tourism providers.
• Launch retail products, improve services and support major city events.
• Drive commercial opportunities and income generation for the service.
• Enhance the visitor experience and strengthen Manchester's city branding and reputation.
