Job summary

The Royal Academy of Arts in London is seeking a Visitor Experience Host to join the Front of House team on a part-time fixed-term contract of 18 hours per week for 6 months.

You will greet visitors, scan tickets, manage cloakrooms, and support restaurants and cafes, ensuring a safe, welcoming, authentic experience throughout the RA journey. The role requires an energetic, customer-focused communicator who engages a diverse audience and contributes to the RA story.

• You will be a dynamic, customer service focussed individual who believes in putting the needs of a varied audience at the heart of what you do.
• You will have excellent customer-facing skills, and the ability to deal with a wide range of people.
• You should be adaptable, friendly, helpful and provide a warm welcome, offer proactive assistance and clear information to all those visiting or working at the Academy.
• You may have an appreciation for the arts but more importantly you will be passionate about contributing to the RA`s story.

Responsibilities

• Meeting and greeting visitors and providing information at key touchpoints.
• Ticket/card scanning and access support.
• Assistance with cloakrooms and movement through the venue.
• Support in restaurants and cafes to ensure a cohesive visitor journey.

About the Role

Our Visitor Management & Welcome Hosts are the first and last impression of the Royal Academy and as such are seen as the embodiement of our values. The Front of House teams provide assistance and information at each step of our visitor’s journey, anticipating their every need.

The team ensure the on-site visit is safe, welcoming, authentic and engaging - from meeting and greeting, ticket/card scanning, and the use of thoroughfares and cloakrooms to the experiences in our restaurants and cafes.

About You

This role will work on a 2 week fixed rotation - Working pattern is below:

Week 1 – Saturday, Sunday

Week 2 – Thursday, Friday
