Job summary

Healthcare Ireland in Ballymena seeks an Activity Co-ordinator to plan and deliver engaging recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, working closely with the care team and families. You will develop a varied schedule that supports physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a good standard of written and verbal English.
• Well-developed communication, observational and active listening skills.
• Experience in related field.
• The Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, planning and delivering group and individual recreational and occupational activities, observing, recording and reporting resident response.
• Engage with residents in one-on-one or group activities, such as games, crafts, music, exercise, outings and social events based on their interest and preferences.
• Setting up and organising of activity areas, including gathering supplies, arranging furniture and displaying materials.
• Ensure the effective, timely and accurate updating of records, case files and computerised information systems.
• Stay informed about best practices and trends in wellbeing and activities for residents.
• Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
