Job summary

Easteden, a values-led care organisation in Northern Ireland, seeks an Activities Assistant to plan and deliver meaningful, person-centred activities. You’ll support wellbeing, respect individuality and promote dignity while working with dementia or complex care needs where applicable.

You’ll help residents express preferences, participate in daily life, and collaborate with nursing, catering and wider teams to enhance overall experiences.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults in care, healthcare, community or wellbeing settings.
• Experience using activities and recreational tools to engage residents.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new residents and help them settle into their new home.
• Get to know residents’ interests and life stories to tailor activities.
• Plan and deliver creative, meaningful, resident-led activities.
• Support residents to express individuality, choices and preferences.
• Encourage participation, independence and social connection.
• Develop resident life stories through conversations and experiences.
• Maintain records and documentation; follow safeguarding and health & safety.
