Job summary

Acorn Vets on Portland Road in Hove is seeking a friendly receptionist to join our two-site practice. You will be the first point of contact for clients, managing appointments, answering calls, greeting visitors, handling payments, and supporting both clinical and admin teams to ensure a smooth client and patient journey.

The role offers a 4-day week or 5-day week with 1:4 Saturday mornings, a welcoming team, and opportunities for development within a busy veterinary environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role with a strong focus on service and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors.
• Answer the telephone in a professional manner.
• Greet visitors in a friendly manner.
• Booking, cancelling and changing appointments, and follow up treatment as needed.
• Answer general administrative questions or direct them to the appropriate party.
• Deal with some admin responsibility.
• Quickly resolve issues related to phone, emails or paperwork.
• Processing and recording payments.
• Dispensing medications/prescriptions.
• Keeping client/patient records up to date.
