Job summary

Vets Now Bradford is seeking a part-time Veterinary Nurse to join our emergency care team. The role focuses on triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care, with shifts including 18:00–09:00 for 3 nights monthly and Sundays 09:00–18:00, plus bank holidays.

RCVS-registered nurses with a passion for animal care and a commitment to high clinic standards are encouraged to apply. ECC experience is advantageous, and we offer a comprehensive benefits package including sickness/maternity pay,

Qualifications

  • RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
  • Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
  • Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
  • Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Triaging and assisting in clinical care including surgery and anesthesia.
  • Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
  • Monitor in-patient care and manage critical conditions and pain.
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

  • First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
  • Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
  • Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
Key requirements
  • RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
  • Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
  • Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
  • Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
Working pattern

3-night shifts per month working 18:00 to 09:00

1:4 Sundays from 09:00 to 18:00
