Job summary

Vets Now in Macclesfield is seeking a Full Time Veterinary Nurse to join our emergency team. You will contribute to triage, surgery support, anaesthesia and in-patient care during out-of-hours shifts, providing compassionate, high-quality care when it matters most.

The role requires RCVS registration with ECC experience being advantageous; we offer ECC certificate support, CPD access, private medical insurance, enhanced leave and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• RCVS registered for at least six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Triage, surgery support, anaesthesia, and in-patient care.
• First Aid - provide advice and in-clinic care.
• Critical Care - monitor major systems and patient trends, assess pain, manage wounds.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid - give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care - management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics - confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Working pattern

A full time role with Vets Now is working an average of 40 hours per week, doing a mixture of weeknights and 1:2 weekends. Shifts will include:

Monday to Sunday night shifts working 18:30 to 08:30

Saturday day shifts working 12:00 to 19:00

Sunday day shifts working 08:00 to 19:00
