Job summary

Portsmouth Solent Vets for Pets is seeking an experienced Reception Manager to lead the friendly front-of-house team and uphold gold-standard client care. You’ll drive operational efficiency, support clinical leadership, and foster a welcoming, professional client experience across every visit.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a proactive approach to team development.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supervising a customer-facing team.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and people management abilities.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software is advantageous.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the reception team to deliver exceptional client service.
• Manage non-clinical administration and operational processes.
• Oversee training, audits, quality management and SOPs.
• Conduct appraisals, monitor performance and develop team objectives.
• Identify opportunities to enhance client and colleague satisfaction.
• Manage training programmes and support team development.
• Maintain debt control processes.
• Prioritise reception workflows for efficient documentation.
• Participate in management meetings and contribute to practice success.
• Work regular reception shifts as part of the rota.
