Job summary

Portsmouth Solent Vets for Pets is seeking an experienced Reception Manager to lead our front-of-house team in a busy, client-focused practice. You will drive service standards, manage non-clinical operations, and work closely with clinical leaders to support practice performance.

We offer a competitive salary, a training allowance, staff discounts, a company pension, extra holiday for your birthday, and holiday progression. 40-hour week, shifts 8:00–19:00, with 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a customer-facing team.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and people management abilities.
• Willingness to work 40 hours per week, including Saturdays on a rotating rota.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the front-of-house reception team to deliver outstanding client service.
• Oversee non-clinical administration and operational processes.
• Oversee training, audits, quality management and SOPs.
• Conduct appraisals, monitor performance and develop team objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve client and colleague satisfaction.
• Manage training programmes and support team development.
• Maintain effective debt control processes.
• Prioritise reception workflows for efficient documentation processing.
• Participate in management meetings and contribute to practice success.
• Work regular reception shifts as part of the rota.
