Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our expanding VT team in London. You will design, develop, and review drawings and submittals for modernisation, new installations, and maintenance of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways across a range of projects.

You will produce reports, manage drawings and specifications, and provide VT expertise on multi-disciplinary projects, with site inspections and client meetings as required.

Qualifications

• NVQ4, HNC or equivalent, Lift or appropriate engineering qualification.
• Extensive vertical transportation experience; lift contracting or consulting background preferred.
• Strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
• Team-oriented; holistic building design solutions in multidisciplinary environment.
• Advanced knowledge of design software including Elevate, CAD, BIM, Revit, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Develop vertical transportation design concepts; calculate lift numbers, size and speed for high-rise buildings.
• Undertake lift traffic analysis; ideally using Elevate.
• Produce reports at key RIBA design stages.
• Oversee production of drawings and specifications for VT projects.
• Provide VT engineering expertise on single and multidisciplinary projects; coordinate with other engineers.
• Inspect installations and witness testing on site.
• Support wider VT team activities; undertake site surveys and report writing.
• Attend design team and client meetings; comply with Safety, Health and Environment policy.
