The Purpose
The Venue Commercial Manager will support the Head of Venue Commercial to maximise commercial growth through strategic approach, managing key client relationships, optimising revenue streams, and ensuring the effective delivery of profitable commercial initiatives. The successful candidate will focus primarily on pricing and non-first team events and growth opportunity, whilst working closely with our Hospitality Sales & Experience Manager to elevate the overall experience of our supporters.
The Role
Sales & Marketing
- Lead and coordinate all commercial initiatives for our Museum & Tour, Catering and United Events businesses, ensuring seamless sales processes and customer experience.
- Collaborate with departments across the club to ensure budgets are tightly managed and processes in place are efficient.
- Focus on customer touch points, channels and content, ensuring up to date information is displayed clearly to maximise conversion.
- Partner with the Marketing Team to develop targeted campaigns that promote events and experiences at Old Trafford.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Fan Engagement
- Collaborate with various stakeholders around the business to deliver commercial growth and enhanced customer experience.
- Develop strategies to expand outreach beyond the existing closed-group communication model.
- Support overarching club and departmental revenue and sales priorities by e.g. driving demand for match-by-match offerings.
- Drive departmental revenue generation through sales data analysis and strategy review.
Team Management
- Ensure team productivity and efficiency is maximised and supported by regular 121s and KPIs.
- Motivate and develop team members, and provide regular feedback.
The Person
- Proven experience in sales and marketing within sports, entertainment, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to assess data and optimise sales strategies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns is desirable.
- A proactive and innovative mindset, with a drive to improve existing processes and strategies.
- Effective team leadership experience, ideally within a sales environment.
