Job summary

Hawk Hiring is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician in Birmingham to join a long-standing family-run independent repair garage. You will perform repairs across a wide range of makes and models, using multi-brand scan tools and writing detailed notes on digital job sheets.

A time-served background and UK driving licence are required. Working Monday to Friday with Saturdays on a fair rota; 20 days leave plus bank holidays; pension and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanic with solid experience across a range of makes and models.
• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• MOT status preferred (not essential) with potential for higher pay.
• Full UK Driving Licence and dependable, detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform core mechanical repairs including timing belt/chain renewals, clutch replacements, suspension overhauls and brake rebuilds.
• Use multi-brand scan tools to read fault codes, reset service indicators and isolate issues.
• Complete servicing, safety evaluations, pre-MOT checks and minor electrical repairs.
• Write detailed notes on digital job sheets and update service desk on repair timelines.
• Keep workshop bays clean, organized and compliant with health and safety guidelines.
