Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Wolverhampton is seeking a practical Vehicle Technician to join a long-standing independent service and repair garage. You will work across all makes and models on a stable, family-oriented workshop team, handling maintenance, brake overhauls, suspension work and clutch replacements.

Daily duties include core mechanical repairs, using multi-brand scan tools to read fault codes, servicing and health checks, writing detailed notes, and keeping the workshop tidy and safe.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanic with solid practical experience across a diverse mix of vehicle makes and models.
• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform core mechanical repairs including timing belt/chain renewals, clutch replacements, suspension overhauls and brake rebuilds.
• Use multi-brand scan tools to read fault codes, reset service indicators and isolate issues.
• Complete scheduled servicing, safety evaluations, pre-MOT checks and minor electrical repairs.
• Write detailed technical notes on digital job sheets and update service desk on timelines.
• Keep workshop bays clean, organized and compliant with health and safety guidelines.
