Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester for a position in Preston. The role requires a valid MOT Class 4 license and a full UK driving license, with workshop experience in a dealer environment.

You will work independently, with duties including servicing, diagnostics, and MOT testing, and benefit from a strong bonus scheme and overtime opportunities. The package offers up to £41,000 basic plus bonus and overtime, with days Monday to Friday 8:30am–5pm and 1 in

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license.
• MOT Class 4 license required.
• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) or Level 2 with main dealership experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults, including warranty work where applicable.
• Perform Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties.

Education

NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent)

Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester Role:

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, this work may include warranty approved work in line with our brand parameters
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties

Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester Requirements:

• Full UK driving license
• NVQ, IMI, City & Guilds or Mechanical Engineering level 3 (or equivalent). We will consider a level 2 if you have main dealership experienced
• A Valid MOT Class 4 license
