Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Huntingdon Workshop for a permanent role. The position offers a base salary around £40,906 with a weekly shift allowance and potential to earn up to £58k including overtime.

You will work a 39.5-hour week on a rotating shift pattern, including 1 in 3 Saturdays, with a strong pension, training plan and employee discounts. PPE and clothing are provided.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualified in Light or Heavy vehicle (or equivalent).
• Own toolkit for standard repairs is required.
• Full manual UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repair procedures on a variety of vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
• Utilise personal toolkit and shared workshop tooling to carry out routine and repair work.

We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Huntingdon Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £58k including overtime.

Working Hours:

Full time - 39.5 hours per week hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00 - 14:24, week 2: 13:36 - 22:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off)

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.

A Bit About You

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
