Job summary

Leicester Independent Automotive Specialist in Leicester is expanding its technical team and seeks an experienced Vehicle Technician to diagnose and repair across multi-brand vehicles.

You will work in a clean, well-equipped bays environment with modern diagnostic tools, handling deep-level fault isolation, timing chain/belt overhauls, gearbox and head gasket work, and routine servicing to achieve first-time fixes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• MOT Tester licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Execute deep-level diagnostic fault isolation across multi-brand vehicle electronics, CAN-bus, and emissions systems.
• Perform major mechanical repairs, including timing chain/belt overhauls, gearbox replacements, clutch builds, and head gaskets.
• Conduct routine manufacturer-level servicing, health checks (VHC), and pre-MOT safety evaluations.
• Record accurate technical findings on digital job cards and brief service advisors on required repair paths.
• Maintain clean work bays, tool care, and standard workshop health and safety protocols.

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background)
• MOT Status: Holding a valid MOT Tester licence is advantageous for enhanced starting pay, but is not essential to apply
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
