Qualifications

• MOT Tester licence is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and isolate issues across multi-brand vehicle electronics and CAN-bus systems.
• Perform major mechanical repairs including timing chain/belt overhauls, gearbox replacements, clutch builds and head gaskets.
• Perform routine servicing, health checks, and pre-MOT safety evaluations.
• Record findings on digital job cards and advise on repair paths.

Core Responsibilities

• Execute deep-level diagnostic fault isolation across multi-brand vehicle electronics, CAN-bus, and emissions systems
• Perform major mechanical repairs, including timing chain/belt overhauls, gearbox replacements, clutch builds, and head gaskets
• Conduct routine manufacturer-level servicing, health checks (VHC), and pre-MOT safety evaluations
• Record accurate technical findings on digital job cards and brief service advisors on required repair paths
• Maintain clean work bays, tool care, and standard workshop health and safety protocols

Candidate Profile

• Technical Ability: Experienced mechanic with strong diagnostic problem-solving capabilities and heavy mechanical repair skills
• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background)
• MOT Status: Holding a valid MOT Tester licence is advantageous for enhanced starting pay, but is not essential to apply
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
