Hawk Hiring is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician in Coventry to join a premier independent diagnostic and vehicle specialist team. The role focuses on deep-level diagnostics across ECU, CAN-bus, and emissions, plus major mechanical repairs and detailed health checks across a range of vehicle makes.

Ideal candidates have Level 3 NVQ/IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, with active MOT tester status preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced mechanic with advanced diagnostic problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong mechanical skills and ECU/CAN-bus knowledge.
• Ability to write clear technical findings and communicate repair paths.

Responsibilities

• Execute deep-level diagnostic fault isolation across complex ECU, CAN-bus, and emissions systems.
• Perform major mechanical repairs, including timing chain/belt overhauls, gearbox builds, clutch replacements, and head gaskets.
• Conduct scheduled servicing, health checks (VHC), and pre-MOT safety evaluations across diverse vehicle marques.
• Write clear technical findings on electronic job cards and brief front-of-house staff on required repair paths.
• Maintain clean work bays and strictly follow workshop health and safety protocols.

• MOT Status: Holding an active MOT Tester licence commands higher starting pay, but is not essential to apply
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
