Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Wolverhampton is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join an independent specialist known for solving complex electrical faults and engine management issues. The role offers a professional, quality-led environment focused on precision diagnostics more than rush.

You will perform deep diagnostics, major mechanical repairs and routine servicing, supported by modern diagnostic platforms and a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Active MOT Tester licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Execute deep-level diagnostic fault isolation across multi-brand electronics, CAN-bus and emissions systems.
• Perform major mechanical repairs, including timing chain/belt overhauls, gearbox replacements, clutch builds and head gaskets.
• Conduct routine manufacturer-level servicing, health checks (VHC) and pre-MOT safety evaluations.
• Write clear technical findings on digital job cards and brief service advisors on required repair steps.
• Maintain clean work bays and uphold workshop health and safety protocols.

• Technical Ability: Experienced mechanic with strong diagnostic problem-solving capabilities and heavy mechanical repair skills
• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background)
• MOT Status: Active MOT Tester licence is advantageous for enhanced starting pay but is not essential to apply
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
