A Coventry-based independent garage is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join a busy workshop team. The role covers a wide range of all-makes servicing, brake and suspension overhauls, timing belt changes, and general maintenance in a supportive environment with steady daily workload.

The ideal candidate will have time-served experience across all vehicle makes, a Level 3 NVQ/IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanic with solid practical experience across all vehicle makes and models.
• Experience with diagnostics using multi-brand tools to read fault codes and reset indicators.
• Demonstrated ability to perform routine servicing and safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Execute core mechanical repairs, including timing belt/chain renewals, clutch replacements, suspension overhauls, and brake builds.
• Utilize multi-brand diagnostic tools to read fault codes, reset service indicators, and isolate mechanical issues.
• Complete routine servicing, safety evaluations, pre-MOT checks, and basic fluid replacements.
• Write clear technical notes on job sheets and keep service desk staff updated on repair progress.
• Keep workshop bays clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety guidelines.

• Experience: Time-served mechanic with solid practical experience across all vehicle makes and models
• Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background)
• MOT Status: Active MOT Tester licence is preferred (with higher starting pay potential), but is not essential to apply
• Mindset: Dependable, detail-oriented technician focused on clean workmanship and right-first-time repairs
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
