Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Nottingham is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to perform heavy mechanical repairs, diagnose faults with dealer tools, and carry out routine maintenance. The role offers a clear training path and strong earning potential within a reputable main dealer network in the region.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, a full UK driving licence, and proven experience in busy workshops.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent time-served experience.
• Demonstrated confidence performing engine work, gearbox repairs, and fault isolation.
• Experience in main-dealer or busy independent workshop environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out heavy mechanical repairs, including engine overhauls, gearbox replacements, timing chains, and clutch rebuilds.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electronic, and software faults using official dealer diagnostic technology
• Perform manufacturer-scheduled maintenance, core servicing, and multi-point vehicle health checks (VHC)
• Complete clear electronic job cards and coordinate with service desk and parts counter
• Collaborate with workshop team to ensure right-first-time quality control
