Job summary

JLR is seeking a Vehicle Technician to upgrade pre-production vehicles to retail saleable standards, performing electrical, mechanical, body, trim and software rectifications while diagnosing complex issues. The role involves working with cutting-edge vehicle technologies in a specialist workshop.

The position operates on a day shift, Monday–Thursday 07:00–15:30 and Friday 07:00–12:00, with potential future shift changes. A strong focus on safety and high-quality output is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle assembly and servicing.
• Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
• Experience with PHEV/MHEV/BEV systems is advantageous.
• Experience using Topix Cloud service tool.
• Adherence to Health & Safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle modifications and repairs including mechanical evaluations and maintenance.
• Provide fault identification and diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform software updates and launch containments as required.
• Repair major and minor units, interior trim, and body panels.
• Carry out vehicle fault diagnostics for production fleets and new model launches.
• Follow engineering instruction sheets and launch activity requirements.
