Job summary

Jaguar Land Rover seeks a skilled Vehicle Technician to upgrade pre-production vehicles to retail standards, carrying out electrical, mechanical, body, trim and software rectification while diagnosing complex issues. Work in a specialist workshop with cutting-edge technology and contribute to global events showcasing JLR products.

The role operates on a day shift: Mon-Thu 07:00-15:30 and Fri 07:00-12:00, with potential future shift changes.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified skilled professional in a vehicle maintenance environment.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment and electrical/mechanical servicing is required.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical faults and software rectification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct modifications and repairs to vehicles including mechanical evaluations and maintenance.
• Provide technical feedback, fault identification and diagnosis using diagnostic tools.
• Perform software download updates and Topix Cloud operations; diagnose and resolve complex vehicle issues.
• Carry out fault diagnostics and containment during model launches and production fleets.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations.

As a Vehicle Technician here at JLR, you'll play a key role in upgrading pre-production vehicles to retail saleable standards, carrying out electrical, mechanical, body, trim and software rectification activities while diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle issues. You'll work with cutting-edge vehicle technologies in a specialist workshop environment, helping deliver high-quality vehicles on time while supporting exciting global events that showcase the very latest JLR products. The role currently operates on a day shift Monday - Thursday 07.00 - 15.30 and Friday 07.00 - 12.00 (this could be subject to change in future to a 2 shift pattern depending on business requirements) WHAT TO EXPECT In this role, no two days are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it's a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here's what to expect:

• Conduct modifications and repairs to vehicles including vehicle mechanical evaluations and maintenance
• Provide comprehensive technical feedback, fault identification and problem diagnosis utilising diagnostic equipment as necessary
• Use of practical problem solving to establish root cause of all electrical faults and ensure robust resolution of all issues for on-going production fleets and new model launch activity requirements
• Repairing or replacement of major, minor units, interior trim and exterior body panels
• Carry out vehicle fault diagnostics and launch containments
• Capability to conduct software download updates through Topix Cloud
• Able to work to engineering instruction sheets
  Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle assembly, along with vehicle servicing capability
• Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
• Knowledge of PHEV/MHEV/BEV systems would be an advantage
• Experience using Topix Cloud service tool
• Must recognise safe working practices, including Health & Safety and environmental regulations
