Job summary

Motorpoint in Edinburgh is seeking a dedicated PDI Technician to ensure vehicles are mechanically prepared and ready for handover. You will perform servicing, inspections, and tests to uphold our high-quality standards and help us deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, a Level 2 motor trade qualification, and an EV qualification is desirable. It is a permanent position with 42.5 hours over 5 days on a rota, including weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Inspect vehicles and diagnose faults to meet quality benchmarks.
• Follow PDI process, including road tests, for handover readiness.
• Complete documentation accurately and support vehicle movements.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
• Champion health and safety and contribute to a positive team culture.
• Carry out any other ad hoc tasks as required.

The Role: PDI Technician

Salary: £35,000 + monthly bonus

Location: Edinburgh

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 42.5 hours, 5 days out of 7 on a rota - weekend working will be required.

What will you be getting up to?

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards
• Inspect vehicles and diagnose faults to meet Motorpoint’s quality benchmarks
• Follow our PDI process, including conducting road tests, to ensure readiness for handover
• Complete documentation accurately and support vehicle movements as needed

What do we need from you?

• A full UK driving licence is essential
• A minimum Level 2 motor trade qualification
• EV qualification is desirable – but don’t worry, we’ll support you with training if needed
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues during inspections
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• A team player who can also work independently
• Motivation to meet performance goals and uphold quality standards
• Organised and efficient in managing workload and priorities
• Commitment to safety and maintaining a tidy workspace
• Willingness to support other sites when needed
