Royal Mail in West Midlands Workshop is seeking a Level 3 qualified mechanic to join our permanent team. The role is a 39.5-hour week with rotating shifts and overtime potential up to £70k including shift allowances.

You will inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair a range of vehicles and trailers, using your own toolkit and access to specialist workshop tools in a modern, fully equipped site. PPE and training are provided.

Qualifications

• Advanced IMI Level 3 qualification in light or heavy vehicles.
• Own toolkit for standard repairs and routine maintenance.
• Full manual UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred.
• Proven experience as Vehicle Technician on LCV/HGV.

Responsabilités

We’re recruiting an Level 3 qualified mechanic at West Midlands Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £70k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00 - 14:30, week 2: 13:30 – 22:00 and week 3: 21:30 - 06:00. You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays 06:00 - 14:00 (with a weekday day off)

A bit about the role

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
