Job summary

Halfords’ National Tyres and Autocare division is recruiting a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in West Bromwich. You will service and repair vehicles, carrying out complex tasks and diagnostics with support for ongoing skill development.

The role requires a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience, plus a full license with limited penalty points. Excellent benefits and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced technician able to diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension and engine components.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repair/replacement work to a high standard.
• Carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Undertake diagnostics in areas like vehicle electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

• Comprising a base salary of £33,000 - £36,620

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
