Job summary

Halfords in Kendal is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service, repair and replace components. You will handle diagnostics in areas such as brakes, steering, suspension, electrics and clutch/timing belt work.

The role offers a base salary of £33,000–£36,000 with an uncapped monthly bonus averaging around £7,100 per year and 5 days a week (closed Sundays). Training progress through ATA and MOT Tester qualifications is supported.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repair and replacement work.
• Perform diagnostics including brakes, steering and suspension.
• Progress to ATA and MOT tester qualifications.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.
