Job summary

Silcom Recruitment are pleased to be supporting a well-established, family-run independent garage in Waterlooville, who are looking to appoint a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team.

Responsibilities include servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across a wide range of vehicles, using modern diagnostic equipment. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and a valid UK driving licence are preferred/essential. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with no weekends; salary up to £45,000 basic.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair) preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities advantageous.
• Valid UK driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Undertake repairs involving brakes, clutches, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components.
• Complete vehicle inspections and health checks, ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard.
• Identify additional work required and communicate findings clearly to the workshop team.
• Work efficiently and accurately, maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities & Requirements of a Vehicle Technician:

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles.


• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.


• Undertake repairs involving brakes, clutches, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components.


• Complete vehicle inspections and health checks, ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard.

• Previous experience working within a main dealership or independent garage environment is essential.

The Package:

• Salary: Up to £45,000 basic!
