Job summary

Silcom Recruitment in Fareham is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join an established automotive workshop. The role involves servicing, diagnostics and vehicle repairs across a range of makes and models, with a professional and customer-focused environment.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, have a driving licence, and ideally experience in a main dealership or independent workshop.

Qualifications

• Holding a valid driving licence.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Experience in a main dealer or independent workshop desirable.
• Ability to service, maintain and repair vehicles to a high standard.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Identify additional maintenance requirements during inspections.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
• Complete vehicle inspections and identify further work.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and safety in all tasks.

Our client is a well-established automotive business with a busy workshop operation, offering servicing, diagnostics and vehicle repairs across a wide range of makes and models. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified technician looking to join a professional and customer-focused working environment.

Responsibilities & Requirements of a Service Technician:

• Driving Licence (required).
• You will ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience working within a main dealership or independent workshop environment is desirable.
• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs to a high standard.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately and efficiently.
• Complete vehicle inspections and identify any additional maintenance or repair requirements.
• Experience working across a variety of vehicle makes and models would be advantageous.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship while ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
• A strong passion for the automotive industry, with a professional and customer-focused approach.

The Package:

• Up to £30,000 basic salary.
• Monday to Friday 08:10am – 17:30pm – No Weekends!
