Job summary

Halfords in Bridgend is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic. You will service and repair vehicles, handle more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements, and perform diagnostics across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

You should have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time served) and a full UK driving licence with up to 9 points. The role offers a base salary of £32,000 with an uncapped bonus averaging £6,600, bringing total potential earnings to

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced technician able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Carry out complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
