Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a family-owned car dealer group for a skilled Vehicle Technician to join its busy Trowbridge dealership. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within an established automotive business offering training, benefits and progression.

You will diagnose faults, service and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards, with a starting salary up to £42,000 per year dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• IMI or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous practical workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician (preferred: 1–2+ years).
• A full UK driving licence is required.
• MOT Smart Card is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repairs on customers’ vehicles to manufacturer and company standards.
• Diagnose faults and report vehicle condition to the Workshop Controller.
• Complete all work efficiently and to a high standard within a busy main dealer workshop.
• Follow all relevant quality, health and safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the workshop team and contribute towards targets.

Duties:

• In this Vehicle Technician position, you will carry out fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repairs on customers’ vehicles to manufacturer and company standards.

Requirements:

• To be considered for the Vehicle Technician role, you must hold IMI or NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification, in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair as a minimum.
• Previous practical workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician is preferred, ideally one to two years or more.
• A full UK driving licence is required.
• We are seeking a committed Vehicle Technician who is reliable, motivated and able to produce high-quality work.
• Individuals with an active MOT Smart Card will be highly advantageous, although this is not essential.
