Overview

We are currently looking for a Mechanic to work in a busy VMU for a well-known and established international company here in Swindon. A LGV Cat CE (Class 1) licence would be preferred although not essential. The workshop is in a new VMU in a busy RDC.

Responsibilities

• Work within a small team carrying out running repairs and accident damage on HGV vehicles and trailers.
• Order and maintain the stock of parts, liaise with third party service providers to organise inspections and servicing of units and trailers.
• Service and repair the fleet of refrigerated units on the trailers.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ideally you would have 3 years minimum experience in the trade.
• Some electrical knowledge and diagnosis skills would be an advantage.
• A LGV Cat CE (Class 1) licence would be preferred although not essential.
• Training will be provided if the candidate has a good basic mechanical understanding.

Benefits and Conditions

• Pay: £19.20 per hour, 40 hour per week contract; overtime paid at the normal hourly rate.
• Additional £4.00 per hour paid when deputising for the leader.
• Occasional weekend work on rotation.
• Holidays: 28 days per annum rising to 33 days after 2 years.
