Job summary

Octane Recruitment is assisting a leading main dealer group in recruiting a Vehicle Technician for the St Helens area. The role involves servicing, maintenance and fault finding on a range of vehicles, with opportunities to work on electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm, with Saturdays on a rota; the role offers a base salary up to £42,000 plus bonus schemes, overtime and progression prospects within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• NVQ/IMI/ATA/City & Guilds Level 3 preferred but Level 2 with substantial main dealer experience considered.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience with servicing and fault diagnosis of vehicles is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles.
• Electrical, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, with warranty work as applicable.
• MOT testing duties if qualified.

Vehicle Technician Role:

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, this work may include warranty approved work in line with our brand parameters
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if qualified)

Vehicle Technician Requirements:

• Full UK driving license
• NVQ, IMI, ATA , Mechanical Engineering or City & Guilds level 3 ideally but we will also consider level 2 with a lot of experience (If you’re a level 2 Vehicle Technician with main dealership experience then definitely apply!)
