Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd in Sheffield is seeking an apprentice-trained Vehicle Mechanic to service, maintain and repair a mixed fleet of light commercial vehicles. The role is an ongoing temporary contract with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

You will diagnose faults, undertake preventive maintenance, and perform pre-MOT inspections. Hours are Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm, with pay £26-£28 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Ideally NVQ Level 3 qualification.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Job description

The Automotive Maintenance division of Questech currently have an exciting new position, located in Sheffield. This is an opportunity to work on a mixed fleet of light vehicles. This is an ongoing temporary contract with the option of a permanent contract for the right individuals.

THE ROLE:

You will be an apprentice trained, fully qualified Vehicle Mechanic and have experience working with a variety of light vehicles / Vans. You will also be given the opportunity to train on specialist public sector vehicles and NHS vehicles.

THE DUTIES:

• Carrying out service, maintenance and repair of a mixed fleet of light commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing faults.
• Pre MOT Inspections

THE HOURS:

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00am-5.00pm

THE RATE OF PAY:

The pay rate is £26.00 - £28.00 per hour dependant on experience.

Training and Qualifications:

You should ideally be qualified to one NVQ level 3

You should ideally hold the following license:

• Full UK driving licence

This is an ongoing winter contract running from early October through to March / April. There is a strong chance of the contract going permanent for the right individuals in spring 2027
