Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd. in Wakefield is seeking an apprentice trained, fully qualified Vehicle Mechanic to maintain a mixed fleet of light vehicles.

The role includes potential progression to a permanent position for the right candidates, with work on NHS and public sector vehicles. The duties include servicing, diagnosing faults, and pre-MOT inspections, on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern from 7.00am to 5.00pm.

Qualifications

• You should ideally be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience with light commercial vehicles and vans.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Job description

The Automotive Maintenance division of Questech currently have an exciting new position, located in Wakefield. This is an opportunity to work on a mixed fleet of light vehicles. This is an ongoing temporary contract with the option of a permanent contract for the right individuals.

THE ROLE

You will be an apprentice trained, fully qualified Vehicle Mechanic and have experience working with a variety of light vehicles / Vans. You will also be given the opportunity to train on specialist public sector vehicles and NHS vehicles.

THE DUTIES

• Carrying out service, maintenance and repair of a mixed fleet of light commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing faults.
• Pre MOT Inspections

THE HOURS

Hours of work are 4 on 4 off 7.00am-5.00pm

THE RATE OF PAY

The pay rate is £26.00 - £28.00 per hour dependant on experience.

Training and Qualifications

You should ideally be qualified to one NVQ level 3

• Full UK driving licence

This is an ongoing winter contract running from early October through to March / April. There is a strong chance of the contract going permanent for the right individuals in spring 2027
