Job summary

Royal Mail Poole Workshop is recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic on a permanent contract, with 39.5 hours per week and a rotating 3‑week shift pattern. You’ll work on a variety of vehicles, performing inspections, diagnostics and repairs, using your own toolkit and workshop resources.

Salary starts at £40,906 per annum, with a weekend supplement and a welcome bonus of £1,500. The role offers pension benefits, career development plans, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanic at advanced level (Level 3) in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent.
• Own toolkit for standard repairs and inspections.

We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Poole Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £50k including overtime.

Working Hours

Full time - 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) (rotating 3 week shift pattern; week 1 & 2 : 06:00 - 14:24, week 3: 10:06 - 18:30.

You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off).

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.

A Bit About You

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
