Job summary

Royal Mail in Oxford is recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic for a permanent position at Oxford Workshop. The role offers a salary of up to £60k including overtime and involves a full-time shift pattern requiring weekend work on a 1 in 3 rotation.

You will perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment, using your own toolkit in a modern workshop with access to specialist tooling and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualified mechanic (Light or Heavy) with own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Experience working on a wide range of vehicles (LCV/HGV).
• Valid UK driving licence (manual).

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repair procedures on vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment.
• Use personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair of light/heavy goods vehicles.
• Access specialist tooling and shared equipment in modern, fully equipped workshops.

Job Overview

We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic on a permanent contract at Oxford Workshop. The role offers a salary of up to £60k including overtime.

Working Hours

Full time – 39.5 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern: week 1: 06:00 – 14:30, week 2: 09:30 – 18:00. You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off).
