Job summary

Halfords Garage Services in Bootle, Merseyside, is hiring a Vehicle Technician. You will service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics, and tackle tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements, with a base salary of £32,000–£34,000 and an uncapped monthly bonus.

This full-time role offers on-target earnings up to £40,800, five days a week, and a comprehensive benefits package including holiday, discounts, and staff schemes.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points
• Experience diagnosing and repairing brakes, steering/suspension, and engine

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work on vehicles
• Perform diagnostics across areas such as brakes, steering, suspension
• Handle more complex tasks like clutches, timing belts, and engine work

Job Description

On-target earnings up to £40,800 comprising a base salary of £32,000 - £34,000. An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £7,100 per year. 5 days a week (this centre is closed on Sundays). Earn extra with our refer a friend scheme - T&C's apply. As a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering, and suspension systems.

Skills and Experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
