Job summary

Halfords, the UK's leading motoring and cycling retailer, is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in Matlock Bath. You’ll service and repair vehicles, diagnose faults, and perform complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements, electrical systems and brake work.

Applicants must hold a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served, and a full driving license with no more than 9 points. The role offers a base salary with uncapped bonus and extensive employee benefits.

• Experience diagnosing brakes, steering/suspension, engine and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair work on vehicles.

• On-target earnings up to £41,240
• Comprising a base salary of £34,640
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,600 per year
• 5 days a week (the centre is closed on a Sunday)

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. Youll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
