Job summary

Igloo Ltd in central Leicester is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a specialist workshop. The role covers dismantling, assembly, maintenance and restoration of vehicles, with a focus on classic Defender models.

You will work from manuals and process sheets, using hand tools, and contribute to team-based workshop goals. The ideal candidate has time-served automotive qualifications and solid hands-on repair skills, with own tools and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Vehicle Technician is essential.
• Time-served or relevant automotive qualifications required.
• Strong practical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Excellent knowledge and experience using hand tools.
• Own tools required.
• Ability to follow workshop manuals, technical instructions and process sheets.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a specialist workshop based in central Leicester. This is a varied, hands-on role involving vehicle dismantling, assembly, maintenance and restoration work within a specialist workshop environment.

The Role:

As a Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out vehicle strip-down and assembly operations.
• Carrying out vehicle maintenance work.
• Working on classic vehicles, particularly older Defender models.
• Following workshop manuals and process sheets.
• Using hand tools to complete workshop tasks.
• Working as part of a team to achieve workshop objectives.

The Person:

• Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician is essential.
• Time-served experience or relevant automotive qualifications required.
• Strong practical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Excellent knowledge and experience using hand tools.
• Own tools required.
• Ability to follow workshop manuals, technical instructions and process sheets.
• Familiarity with JLR EPC, SDD, Pathfinder or Topix is desirable.
• Clear and logical approach to diagnosing and solving problems.
• Reliable, willing and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
