A leading service provider in the UK seeks a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to service and repair Government Owned Vehicles for the U.S. Air Force at RAF Molesworth. This permanent full-time position requires expertise in maintaining a diverse fleet, ensuring compliance with Air Force and transport regulations. The technician will work Monday to Friday, participate in an emergency call-out roster, and uphold safety standards both in the workshop and on the road.

As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the service and repair of Government Owned Vehicles (GOV) for our customer, the United States Air Force (USAF). You'll work Monday to Friday and be part of a team providing accident and breakdown cover on a 24/7 basis, holding a call‑out phone one week in four, paid at an overtime rate.
Repair and maintain a fleet of 130+ vehicles, including U.S. specification and left-hand drive models.
Service a range of vehicles such as HGV tractors and trailers, U.S. spec fire trucks, police cars, vans, and forklifts.
Repair and maintain varied equipment including tail lifts and generators.
Ensure all repairs comply with Air Force Instructions and Ministry of Transport regulations.
Perform maintenance inspections and repairs, including brake tests and MOT‑standard checks.
Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
Conduct test drives after repairs to confirm roadworthiness.
Maintain workshop equipment and ensure safety procedures are followed.
Keep the workshop clean and organised for workplace safety.
Account for all spares and equipment and maintain accurate records.
Demonstrate preventative maintenance processes to drivers and management.
Perform driving duties when required and ensure safe, efficient driving practices.
Participate in emergency call‑out roster and work outside normal hours when operationally required.
