Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Vehicle Technician role in Guildford. The successful candidate will handle servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across a range of vehicles.

A Level 3 qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds) or Level 2 with 3 years’ experience is required, plus a well-equipped toolbox. The position is full-time, features a 40-hour week with Saturday rota, and offers a competitive basic salary with overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ/City & Guilds) or equivalent; or Level 2 with at least 3 years’ workshop experience.
• Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for workshop duties.
• Experience carrying out servicing, vehicle health checks, fault diagnosis, and mechanical/electrical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, repairs, and health checks per manufacturer guidelines and customer requests.
• Perform diagnostics across mechanical, braking, electrical and powertrain systems using modern workshop tools.
• Complete warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications and ensure accurate job cards.
• Conduct road tests to verify faults are fully resolved before handover.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors and workshop management to maintain safe working practices.

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role with a Level 3 qualification, or Level 2 Technician / Mechanic with 3 years’ experience, for one of the UK’s leading automotive retail groups, working on a wide range of vehicles. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Location: Guildford

Pay / salary: Up to £37,000 basic per annum plus productivity bonus and overtime, OTE £44,320+

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, standard day shifts plus Saturday rota)

Job Responsibilities for the Vehicle Technician role

• Conduct road tests to ensure all reported faults are fully resolved prior to vehicle handover.
• Collaborate closely with Service Advisors and workshop management to maintain safe working practices and high workshop efficiency.
