Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is assisting a well-established independent automotive specialist in Thatcham with a Vehicle Technician role. This permanent, full-time position offers a base salary up to £35,000 plus productivity bonuses and overtime, with an OTE of £50,000+.

Applicants should hold a Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or Level 2 with 3 years’ experience, and have a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ/City & Guilds) or equivalent; alternatively Level 2 with 3 years' workshop experience.
• Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for workshop duties.
• Experience carrying out servicing, health checks, fault diagnosis and mechanical/electrical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, repairs and health checks per manufacturer guidelines and customer requests.
• Perform diagnostics across mechanical, braking, electrical and powertrain systems using modern workshop tools.
• Complete warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications and ensure accurate job card documentation.
• Conduct road tests to ensure all faults are resolved prior to handover.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors and workshop management to maintain safety and efficiency.
