Job summary

Command Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician for a well-established main dealer in Romford. You will service, diagnose and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards within a modern workshop.

The role offers strong manufacturer training, clear career progression, and a competitive salary with a 40-hour week and no weekend work, including hybrid and EV training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician in franchised dealership or independent workshop.
• MOT Tester qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing warranty and routine servicing work.
• Carrying out vehicle health checks and identifying additional work where appropriate.
• Using the latest manufacturer diagnostic equipment and repair methods.
• Maintaining accurate workshop records and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
• Supporting apprentices and junior technicians where appropriate.

40 Hours Per Week | Monday to Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm | No Weekends

  • OTE: £43,000 - £45,000
• Diagnostic / Master Technician
  • Basic Salary: £35,000 - £38,000
  • OTE: £45,000 - £48,000

The Role

The Ideal Candidate

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician within either a franchised dealership or independent workshop.
• MOT Tester qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
